Rubio Plan Will Double The Child Tax Credit To $2,000 Per Child and Make Credit Fully Refundable

Washington, DC – Faith & Freedom Coalition Founder and Chairman Ralph Reed issued the following letter today, on behalf of the over 1.5 million members of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, to Senator Marco Rubio and other members of the U.S Senate, supporting Senator Rubio’s effort to double the Child Tax Credit to $2000 per child and make the credit fully refundable. In the letter, Reed stated, “an expanded Child Tax Credit is an important step for investing in children, promoting stronger families, and improving the structure of the tax system. These are priorities that Americans from every background can get behind. We call upon Congress and the Administration to seize the opportunity to provide unprecedented tax relief to ordinary, working-class families.” Chairman Reed also called for Senators to challenge the Senate parliamentary ruling and “permanently repeal the bigoted Johnson Amendment, which is a clear unconstitutional restriction on freedom of speech used by the Internal Revenue Service to harass, intimidate and persecute the faith community for over six decades.” Read the full letter HERE.
