Statement from Executive Director Timothy Head on Events in Charlottesville, Virginia

“There is no place in America for racial bigotry and discrimination, including the abhorrent ethnic and racial supremacist views on display in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend. We continue to pray for the family and friends of Heather Heyer who was brutally murdered by a domestic terrorist and we call for justice to be served swiftly. We also remain in prayer for the families of Lt. H. Jay Cullen and Trooper-Pilot Berke Bates, two Virginia state troopers, who were killed in a helicopter crash while trying to keep the people of Charlottesville safe. Their deaths are a tragedy that deeply affect each and every one of us.

The events of Charlottesville are an abomination to all Americans and must not be tolerated in a civil society. As Christians, we know that hate, violence, and bigotry have no place in America. As conservatives, we know that we must stand for freedom, tolerance, and peace. And as Americans, we know that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”
