Washington, DC – Faith & Freedom Coalition Executive Director Tim Head issued the following statement on today’s U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Neomi Rao, President Donald Trump’s nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
“Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have rolled over their unfair and religiously biased attacks against Justice Brett Kavanaugh into today’s hearing for Neomi Rao to serve on the DC Circuit Court. Neomi Rao is one of President Trump’s most imminently qualified nominees who has spent her legal career as an expert on the sorts of administrative law questions heard by the D.C. Circuit. She was unfairly attacked in today’s hearing for her religious beliefs and previous academic writings, by Democratic Senators more interested in scoring political points for their Presidential aspirations and grandstanding for the cameras, than actually performing their duty of advising and consenting to nominees to the federal courts.
