Faith & Freedom Releases First Video of 2020, Launches Massive Digital Campaign Reaching 22 Million Evangelical & Catholic Voters in Key States
Digital Campaign is Part of $50 Million Voter Education Effort, Largest in the History of Faith Community, Includes Voter Registration, Millions of Door Knocks, GOTV Phone Calls, and Voter Guides
Faith & Freedom Coalition released its first video of the 2020 election, the opening salvo in a massive digital campaign that will reach 22 million evangelical, Catholic, and pro-life voters in the key battleground states, including Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The digital video ads will begin appearing today via email, SMS text message, Facebook, and other digital platforms and will reach an estimated 3.6 million voters of faith in the next five days.
Timed to coincide with the enthusiastic response to the President’s State of the Union address, the video is part of $50 million digital and grassroots effort that is the largest pro-family voter education campaign in modern American political history. It includes registering 1 million new voters, 4 million door knocks and home visits, 10 million GOTV calls (2 million by volunteers and live operators), 40 million voter guides in an estimated 117,000 churches, and tens of millions of SMS and email contacts to a prequalified evangelical and Catholic voter universe estimated at 41.6 million voters.
“Promises Kept,” the first video of a massive digital campaign, highlights President Trump’s recent appearance at the March for Life, where he became the first sitting president to address the pro-life gathering in its 47-year history. With soaring music and eye-grabbing graphics, the video details Trump’s accomplishments on the economy, middle-class tax cuts, the $2,000 per child tax credit, judges (including the appointment of two Supreme Court justices), religious freedom, criminal justice reform, human trafficking, withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, and moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. The video closes with a call to action to call President Trump and thank him for keeping his word on so many important issues that are dear to people of faith.
“In 2016, Donald Trump won 81 percent of the evangelical vote,” said Timothy Head, Executive Director of Faith & Freedom. “At that time, many evangelical and faithful Catholic voters did so on faith. Now, there is an impressive and historic record of accomplishments. These are promises made and promises kept, not only to the faith community, but to the American people. That’s a message we will ensure every faith-based voter in every key state and Congressional district gets between now and Election Day.”
Faith & Freedom visited 2.2 million homes of faith-based voters in key states and Congressional districts in 2018. The 2020 voter education campaign marks a doubling of that historic effort, and also will include the largest digital campaign in Faith & Freedom’s history. It will involve an estimated 6,000 volunteers and paid staff in key states registering voters in churches, distributing voter education material, and knocking on doors. For the first time, Faith & Freedom has added an Hispanic outreach effort with bilingual digital voter guides, voter registration in key states, and door knocks.
