Faith & Freedom Coalition Praises House GOP Agenda

Today Faith & Freedom Coalition Founder and Chairman Ralph Reed released the following statement regarding House Republicans’ “Pledge to America”: “The House Republicans’ ‘Pledge to America’ is a bold reform agenda promising not only to stop the Reid-Pelosi Congress and Barack Obama’s socialistic spending spree and government takeover of health care in its tracks, but to replace it with a conservative alternative that is friendly to hard-working families and small businesses. House Republicans rightly rejected the idea that Tea Party issues like cutting spending and delimiting government are somehow at odds with the pro-family agenda of honoring marriage and unborn life.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Pro-family candidates are the most likely to be fiscal conservatives, and Tea Party candidates are the most likely to be pro-life.  The agenda embraces time-honored values like traditional marriage and ending taxpayer-funded abortion as well as lower taxes and reduced spending.  The message was unmistakable: we will not be divided by a false choice between fiscal responsibility and strong families.  We will fight for both, and indeed we must do both if we are to restore America’s promise.” The Faith & Freedom Coalition (FFC) is committed to educating, equipping, and mobilizing people of faith and like-minded individuals to be effective citizens. FFC endeavors to influence public policy and enact legislation that strengthens families, promotes time-honored values, protects the dignity of life and marriage, lowers the tax burden on small business and families, and requires government to tighten its belt and live within its means. Founded in late 2009, FFC has more than 400,000 members, 125,000 donors and affiliate organizations in 24 states.
