Faith & Freedom Coalition Commends Nomination of John Ratcliffe as Director of National Intelligence, Urges Swift Confirmation

DULUTH, Ga. – The Faith & Freedom Coalition commends the nomination of Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) as director of national intelligence and urges the U.S. Senate to confirm him swiftly. Currently serving as the U.S. representative for Texas’ fourth congressional district, Ratcliffe has sat on several key committees focused on U.S. national security. In the 114th Congress, he was a chair on the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies and sat on the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations within the Judiciary Committee. In the 116th Congress, Ratcliffe joined the House Intelligence Committee, where he serves on both the Strategic Technologies and Advanced Research and Intelligence and Modernization Readiness subcommittees.

Ratcliffe also brings extensive experience from his work in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas. In this office, he served as the chief of Anti-Terrorism and National Security, first as assistant U.S. Attorney and eventually as the U.S. Attorney himself. During this time, he coordinated between agencies and federal, state and local partners to promote public safety and prevent terrorism.
