Faith & Freedom Coalition Applauds Churches, Pastors for Leadership During COVID-19 Pandemic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Faith & Freedom Coalition applauds the efforts of pastors and churches nationwide to make services accessible online during the COVID-19 crisis. According to recent research from the Barna Group, church attendance remains high, despite the fact that attendees can no longer meet in person: 44% of pastors say church attendance is higher than normal, and 17% say virtual attendance is the same as it would be on a normal Sunday. These numbers speak to the power of the Christian faith and the hope that the church offers its members during times of uncertainty.

“As Christians, we place our trust in the sure foundation of Christ — a foundation so sure that not even a pandemic can shake it,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “Though we might be worshipping in our homes rather than in a sanctuary, we remain united in the truth of the gospel and the resurrection hope of the risen Christ. Now more than ever, the world needs these life-giving truths, and we at Faith & Freedom applaud the hard work of pastors and church teams to set up digital services where Christ can be praised, even in the midst of fear and instability.”

The Faith & Freedom Coalition works to bring the faith-based values to bear on matters of national interest and public policy. To learn more about the Faith & Freedom Coalition, visit https://www.ffcoalition.com/.
