The U.S. Adds 1.8 Million Jobs in July, Unemployment Rate Drops to 10.2%

DULUTH, Ga. – The Faith & Freedom Coalition celebrates the continued return of the U.S. economy. According to the Labor Department’s July jobs report, U.S. employers added 1.8 million jobs in July. While the number of jobs added this month is lower than the number added in the previous month, the unemployment rate continues to drop, decreasing from 11.1% in June to 10.2% in July. The changes suggest a positive outlook for the economy, in spite of the challenges caused by social distancing and COVID-19.

“We’re thrilled to see the economy continue to turn around,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “Seeing the unemployment rate drop month after month shows that we’re on the right track and indicates that the economy will fully recover once the virus is under control. We thank President Trump for his strong leadership during this time and applaud the administration for its work to encourage economic recovery.”
