FAITH IN ACTION

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer & Four-Term Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard Will Address Faith & Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” Policy Conference 2023

DULUTH, Ga. – The Faith & Freedom Coalition today announced House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and Four-term Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard will speak at its 2023 Road to Majority Policy Conference, the nation’s largest public policy gathering of conservative and Christian activists, in Washington, D.C.

Road to Majority will feature more than 70 speakers and an estimated 3,000 attendees throughout the weekend.

Four-term Congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is a combat veteran with three deployments to the Middle East and Africa. She currently serves as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, commands the 440th Civil Affairs Battalion, and hosts the society and culture podcast The Tulsi Gabbard Show.

Tulsi first served in elected office in the Hawaii State House of Representatives when she was 21 years old. Due to the attacks on 9/11, she enlisted in the Army National Guard. In 2004, she gave up a reelection campaign and volunteered to deploy to Iraq with the 29th Brigade Combat Team, where she served in a medical unit.

After returning home in 2006, Tulsi worked in the U.S. Senate as a legislative aide to the late Senator Danny Akaka, who was chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. She then volunteered for a second Middle East deployment as a platoon leader.

Having experienced firsthand the true cost of war, Tulsi ran for United States Congress in 2012 at age 31, vowing to honor the lives and sacrifices of her brothers and sisters in uniform. She won the election and went on to serve in Congress for eight years as a member of the Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Foreign Affairs Committees. Forgoing a run for reelection to Congress in 2020, she ran for president in the Democratic Party.

On October 11, 2022, Tulsi Gabbard announced she was leaving the Democratic Party and explained why. Tulsi puts country before party and approaches every issue, domestic and foreign, based on ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people. In 2022, Tulsi was honored with the Resilience Award by the Independent Women’s Forum for her work to preserve the integrity of Title IX and named Patriot of the Year by the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.

Congressman Tom Emmer joined the U.S. House of Representatives on January 6, 2015, and currently represents Minnesota’s 6th District.

Tom was recently elected by his fellow Republican colleagues to serve as majority whip entering the 118th Congress. Prior to that, he served as chairman of the NRCC during the 116th Congress and 117th Congress. House Republicans picked up seats in back-to-back cycles and reclaimed the House majority for just the third time since 1954.

Tom also sits on the House Financial Services Committee and is a member of the House Republican Steering Committee.

Born in 1961, Tom grew up in Minnesota and attended St. Thomas Academy. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and his JD from William Mitchell College of Law.

After practicing law for several years, he opened his own law firm. The next 20 years were spent balancing family, business, coaching hockey, and serving on the city councils in Independence and Delano.

Before coming to Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2004-2008.

He and his wife, Jacquie, have been married for over 30 years and have seven children. They reside in Delano, MN.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer & Tulsi Gabbard will join previously confirmed speakers President Donald J. Trump, Gov. Ron DeSantis, Vice President Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Asa Hutchinson, Larry Elder, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Sen.
