WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Faith & Freedom Coalition applauds the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States affirming the ability of states to preserve fairness and equal opportunity in women’s and girls’ athletics. We believe this ruling recognizes the importance of protecting the integrity of women’s sports and ensuring that female athletes can compete on a level playing field. This decision reflects a commitment to fairness, safety, and the opportunities that generations of women have worked diligently to secure.
“We believe that every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth,” said Jon Harbison, Interim Executive Director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “We are called to love our neighbors with compassion while also upholding biblical principles regarding the created order. We believe that biological sex is a God-given reality and that policies governing athletic competition should acknowledge these differences to ensure fairness and safety for all participants.”
Today’s ruling supports President Trump’s executive order that there are only two unchangeable sexes. The Administration’s February 2025 order also prohibited the federal government from funding grant programs that allowed biological males to compete in women’s sports.
