DULUTH, Ga. – This Easter, the Faith & Freedom Coalition released the following statement from Chairman Ralph Reed:

“This is certainly one of the most remarkable Easter Sundays in modern history,” said Ralph Reed. “For the first time in over a century, most churches are closed, and Christians celebrating Easter will flood online platforms to worship rather than pack church buildings.”

“Even though churches are empty, our hearts are full.  Today we celebrate not only the historical truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we celebrate the larger reality it represents.  Namely, the victory of faith over sin and death, and the vanquishing of fear by hope.”

“I do not claim to understand why God allowed this pandemic to occur.  But I know that God can and will use it for our good and His glory.  Online church attendance is skyrocketing during this crisis and booksellers report that Bible sales are up 40 to 60 percent.  In times of crisis, people turn to faith in larger numbers, seeking solace and comfort in the midst of uncertainty.”

“Today we lift up special prayers for President Trump, Vice President Pence, and all elected officials who are providing leadership at this time.  We pray for wisdom and knowledge beyond their human ability to make the right decisions for the people.  We pray for all the doctors, nurses, health care workers and first responders who have rushed into the maelstrom and helped the sick.  And we pray for God’s mercy as we repent of our sins and seek His face at this time of challenge and testing.”

“Against the dark silhouette of this pandemic, the message of Easter has never been more compelling or relevant to humanity.  Christ has risen and He is alive!  In sickness and in health, in life and in death, He is faithful. Let us celebrate his glorious resurrection with joy, knowing that if he can conquer death and the grave, then we truly have nothing to fear.”
