FFC Applauds Passage of Bipartisan, Pro-Life Legislation

The Faith & Freedom Coalition applauds the passage of H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which passed with a vote of 227-188.  Speaker John Boehner  stated about the passage: “Ending taxpayer funding of abortion is the will of the people, and ought to be the law of the land.  While there is a patchwork of policies like the Hyde Amendment that prohibit taxpayer subsidies for abortion, none are permanent.  This bipartisan measure codifies the Hyde Amendment and applies it across all federal programs, including the president’s health care law.  I’m proud to be part of the pro-life bipartisan majority in the House, and I call on the United States Senate to give this legislation a vote.” FFC founder and Chairman Ralph Reed praised the decision stating, “I applaud the House of Representatives for taking this action to protect taxpayers against being forced to subsidize the taking of innocent human life, an imperative that has become doubly important given the abortion subsidies in Obamacare.” Click here for more information on the passage of H.R. 7.
