Tax Cut Passed by Congress is Already Paying Dividends For American Families

Faith & Freedom Coalition Chairman Ralph Reed issued the following statement concerning today’s announcement from Wal-Mart that the retailer will raise wages, pay bonuses, expand maternity and paternity leave, and provide adoption assistance to its U.S. based employees because of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. “We applaud Wal-Mart for raising wages, expanding maternity and parental leave for their employees, and providing $5,000 in financial assistance for adoption services.  This is pro-family, pro-work, and pro-life.  As with other companies who are increasing wages, providing cash bonuses, and expanding benefits for their employees, these steps have been made possible to some degree by the tax cut recently passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump.  On behalf of America’s families and children, we thank the nation’s largest employer for enhancing benefits that reward work, honor life and strengthen the family.”
