Faith & Freedom Coalition Praises Vice President Mike Pence’s Performance in the Vice Presidential Debate

DULUTH, Ga. – Last night was the first and only vice presidential debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris in the 2020 presidential election cycle. The debate showed Americans where the two parties stand on a lot of different issues, including the coronavirus, pro-life politics, trade deals and the U.S. economy. It was clear from the debate that President Trump and Vice President Pence have made incredible accomplishments these past four years and that they are unapologetically pro-life, pro-freedom, pro-faith and pro-family.

From the very beginning of the debate, Vice President Pence demonstrated dignity and respect for his opponent by kindly acknowledging Harris and congratulating her for her accomplishments. Pence’s demeanor contrasted markedly with Harris’s abrasive and condescending debate style. But as the debate progressed, Harris and Pence diverged even more sharply. Throughout the debate, Pence championed his four years of accomplishments as Vice President. For four years, Pence has worked tirelessly to advance Trump’s agenda in almost every respect. On every issue, from the coronavirus and abortion to religious liberty and the economy, Pence and Trump have a proven record of promises made and promises kept. Harris had nothing but personal attacks and liberal rhetoric, both of which she delivered in droves.

“President Trump made an excellent choice picking Pence as his VP back in 2016, and his 2020 ticket is even stronger now with Pence’s history of accomplishments to back it up.” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition.  “The vice presidential debate only confirmed Pence’s strengths as an orator and a politician. Pence, quite simply, outshined his opponent. He was the right man for the job in 2016; he continues to be in 2020. Last night’s debate made the choice in 2020 even clearer for many Americans across the country.”
