Faith & Freedom Coalition Commends President Trump for Pardoning Susan B. Anthony

DULUTH, Ga. – Today is the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which was ratified in August 1920 and guarantees that no citizen can be barred from voting on account of their gender. The Faith & Freedom Coalition applauds President Trump for pardoning Susan B. Anthony, a women’s suffrage leader and champion for life. She was arrested and fined $100 in 1872 for attempting to vote, which at the time was an illegal act for a female. Executive Director Timothy Head released the following statement concerning this news:

“This icon of women’s rights was never pardoned until today, 148 years later, when President Trump signed a full and complete pardon. We thank President Trump for acknowledging this woman and affirming the importance of her work. Susan Anthony was not only a symbol for women’s rights, but also a strong advocatet for the anti-abortion movement. She will go into history as a great pro-life advocate, and President Trump is to be commended for pardoning her.”
