Faith & Freedom Coalition Commends East Mountain, Texas for Becoming a “Sanctuary for the Unborn”

DULUTH, Ga. – The Faith & Freedom Coalition applauds the city of East Mountain, Texas for its decision to declare itself a “Sanctuary for the Unborn.” The city council voted this past Monday to outlaw abortions, making it one of 14 Texas towns to enact a local ban on abortion. The first town to do so was Waksom, which started this state-wide trend in June of 2019.

“This is not only a bold stand for life, but it is also a classic American story,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “When the centralized governing power refuses to listen to the cries of the people, Americans take matters into their own hands. We congratulate this Texan town for its courage and hope that other cities across the state and the country will follow suit. Our nation was built on a right to life — it’s high time we started demanding that right.”
