Executive Director Timothy Head Receives Prestigious 2021 Baylor Alumni Award

DULUTH, Ga. – Faith & Freedom Coalition is pleased to announce that Executive Director Timothy Head is a recipient of one of the 2020-2021 Baylor Alumni Awards. These awards honor individuals who embody Baylor University’s distinctive mission to “educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment.”

Timothy Head will receive the Pro Texana Medal of Service, an Alumni award that recognizes an individual whose contributions in furthering Baylor’s mission have made an immeasurable impact in the public or nonprofit sector. Past recipients have included outstanding public servants such as Philip Gunn (speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives), Kyle Dever (mayor of Waco, Texas), and Melissa Rogers (former special assistant to the president of the United States and executive director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships), among others. Timothy Head is the first private citizen ever to be awarded the Pro Texana Medal of Service.

“I am honored to receive this award and am sincerely grateful for the education I was given at Baylor University,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “Having received my bachelor’s, master’s and law degree at Baylor, I can truly say that Baylor University has been and will continue to be foundational in my life. At Baylor, I learned what it means to be both a Christian and a patriotic American leader. I am thrilled to be named among so many other incredible Baylor alumni who God is using for His glory in our world.”

In the award announcement, Timothy Head was highlighted for his integral role in helping create six legislative bills that were passed in the last several years – most notably, President Trump’s landmark federal prison reform bill commonly known as the First Step Act, as well as the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA) and the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA).

A virtual award recognition event will kick off a weeklong celebration on April 11 honoring all of the Baylor alumni who lead and serve in our world.
