Attorney General William Barr Attacked in Congressional Hearing

Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, July 28, Attorney General William Barr testified before the Democrat-led House Judiciary Committee. But Barr was hardly allowed to answer questions, let alone offer anything close to a testimony. Instead, Barr faced intense and highly politicized opposition from Democrats on issues ranging from the 2020 election to the Trump administration’s deployment of additional law enforcement resources in cities combating violent riots.

“Democrats used the hearing to publicly berate the Honorable William Barr,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “The hearing was just another in a long line of high-profile political stunts by Democrats this election year. The Democrats didn’t want to gather and evaluate facts from the Attorney General; they wanted an opportunity to grandstand and monologue before the public eye. From asking loaded questions and insulting the Attorney General’s personal character, to pushing contentious political narratives, Democrats demonstrated a stunning lack of fairness, responsibility, and respect. Nonetheless, Attorney General William Barr handled himself with dignity and composure.”
